  • Winmark launches Style Encore resale brand

    Minneapolis -- Winmark Corp. announced today that the name of its recently launched women's resale brand will be Style Encore. The company also announced that Susan Baustian, formerly the company's brand director for its children's resale franchise Once Upon A Child has been named as the brand director for Style Encore.

  • Merchandising solutions provider names new CFO

    ATLANTA — Predictix, a provider of merchandising and supply chain solutions for retailers, has named Bradley White as its new CFO. White is a proven financial executive and joins Predictix with more than 15 years’ experience in treasury, finance, accounting, public company reporting, employee management, strategic planning and tax compliance in diverse global businesses and industries.  This comes after the recent appointment of John Simon as Predictix’ new CEO.

  • President of Aeropostale to retire

    New York -- Aeropostale announced the retirement of president Michael Cunningham, effective March 29. He will remain on the board of directors.

  • Bebe steps out with Aldo

    BRISBANE, Calif. — Specialty apparel retailer,Bebe,has entered into a strategic global licensing agreement with Aldo to design, manufacture and distribute Bebe’s footwear.

    The upcoming collection will include a full range of lifestyle categories including: sandals, closed-toe shoes, heels, flats, booties and boots, among other styles, with a median retail price of $129.00. The footwear collection will mirror bebe’s feminine aesthetic: playful, sexy, sophisticated, modern and on-trend.

    Canton, Mass. -- Dunkin’ Donuts announced the signing of multi-unit store development agreements with two franchise groups to develop 11 restaurants throughout New Orleans.

  • Family Dollar Stores renews software agreement with Revionics for price optimization

    Roseville, Calif. -- Family Dollar Stores is renewing its software contract with Revionics, which provides end-to-end merchandise optimization solutions, the supplier announced. The multi-year agreement will extend the retailer’s services with Revionics’ price optimization solutions, with Family Dollar leveraging Revionics’ solutions in each of its more than 7,600 stores in 45 states.

  • Oro Gold Cosmetics to open at East 57th Street and Park Avenue

    New York -- Douglas Elliman's Retail Group said Tuesday it has arranged the lease for Oro Gold Cosmetics' first New York flagship at 118 East 57th Street, between Park and Lexington Avenues.

    The retailer currently operates 50 dedicated boutiques and spas in affluent markets worldwide, including London, Barcelona, Moscow, Dubai and Singapore, as well as in such U.S. cities as Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas, Boston, Miami and throughout California, from San Diego to Sacramento.

  • Credit card group takes swipe at NRF

    WASHINGTON — The National Retail Federation has been outspoken in its criticism of credit card fees and now a group called the Electronic Payments Coalition that represents credit unions,banks and payment card networks is firing back, claiming that the retail lobby is making false statements regarding checkout fees.
