  • Study: Grand Forks mall leads in local shoppers

    San Francisco – The Grand Cities Mall in Grand Forks, North Dakota leads all U.S. shopping malls in both the presence of shoppers who live and the presence of shoppers who work within three miles.

  • 3M announces partnership with Hendrick Motorsports

    A new partnership with Hendrick Motorsports has 3M off to the races. The company has signed a three-year contract to become the primary sponsor of NASCASR driver Jeff Gordon’s No. 24 car, starting in 2015.
     
    The brand will use its sponsorship — which includes 11 Sprint Cup races every year — in product launches and promotions.
     

  • Freeman named president at Black Diamond

    Outdoor equipment and apparel company Black Diamond named former Sony and Gap executive Zeena Freeman as president and eventual CEO.

    The Salt Lake City-based manufacturer of outdoor performance equipment and apparel said Freeman would join the company as president, reporting to co-founder and CEO Peter Metcalf, who she will succeed in that role next June.

  • Expenses cut Dover Saddlery Q2 net income; four-to-six new stores planned

    Littleton, Mass. – Net income at Dover Saddlery Inc. for the second quarter decreased 26% to $261,000, compared to $355,000 achieved in second quarter 2013. Higher selling, and general and administrative expenses helped cut the net income total.

    Dover Saddlery is planning to open four-to-six retail stores in 2014. Until there is greater long-term visibility on sustainable economic conditions and consumer behavior, the company is not providing guidance on other business prospects.

  • CVS enters Seattle market

    Woonsocket, R.I. – CVS/pharmacy launched its entrance into the Seattle market with the grand opening of a new location in the city of Renton, the first CVS/pharmacy in the state of Washington. In addition to the new store in Renton, the company will open two more Seattle-area stores in 2014 and will open its first store in the city of Seattle next summer.

    With its entrance into Seattle, CVS/pharmacy now has a presence in all 20 top drugstore markets in the U.S. The Renton store is one of the first tobacco-free CVS locations in the U.S.

  • Dole marketing team gets a taste of company’s research

    Dole Fresh Fruit’s sales and marketing team will be taking a trip to Kannapolis, North Carolina, to see the company’s Nutrition Research Laboratory on the state’s research campus.
     
    The visitors will be led by Dole’s VP of nutrition research Nicholas Gillitt, who will show them around the campus and explain research in the hope that the marketing team will pass it on to consumers.
     

  • Ferrandino & Son hires VP operations

    Farmingdale, N.Y. - Ferrandino & Son Inc., a provider of exterior maintenance, facility services, HVAC, lighting and electrical services, painting and general contracting, has hired Tom Panek as VP operations. Panek will be responsible for the day to day operations across all of Ferrandino & Son programs.  

  • GameStop simplifies trade-in pricing

    Grapevine, Texas - A new, streamlined trade-in program will launch nationwide at all GameStop stores on Aug. 18 that simplifies all the variables that affect the amount customers are eligible to receive when selling a game in a store. As a result, GameStop now has more than 100 games worth $20 or more.
