  • Build-A-Bear Workshop has new product chief

    Build-A-Bear Workshop has appointed Jennifer Kretchmar as chief product officer and innovation bear. She will report to CEO Sharon John.

    Kretchmar will lead the company's merchandising and product development teams and be responsible for product development, design, quality, sourcing, merchandising, planning and wholesale.

  • Build-A-Bear Workshop names Stride Rite exec as chief product officer

    St. Louis - Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc. has appointed Jennifer Kretchmar as chief product officer. Kretchmar will lead the company's merchandising and product development teams and will report to Sharon John, CEO of Build-A-Bear Workshop.

  • GNC ups share repurchase authorization to $500 million

    Pittsburgh -- GNC Holdings, Inc.’s board of directors has authorized a multi-year program to repurchase up to an aggregate $500 million of the company's Class A common stock. The authorization is effective immediately and replaces GNC’s previous authorization, which had approximately $250 million remaining.  

    The repurchases are expected to take place over the next 24 months.

  • Nine West Jeanswear Group becomes One Jeanswear Group

    New York - Nine West Jeanswear Group Inc., formerly known as Jones Jeanswear Group, is changing its name to One Jeanswear Group Inc. This change is an additional step in giving the Jeanswear division a distinct identity as an independent operating company within Nine West Holdings, Inc., a portfolio company of Sycamore Partners.

  • CST Brands Q2 net income drops; 38 new stores planned

    San Antonio – Motor fuel and convenience store operator CST Brands Inc. reported net income of $32 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2014, down 22% from $41 million in the second quarter of the prior fiscal year. Until May 1, 2013, CST was still a wholly owned subsidiary of Valero and, as such, second quarter 2013 results do not include all of the expenses associated with being a public company.

  • McCormick executive officer retires after 30 years

    McCormick’s VP, general counsel and corporate secretary W. Geoffrey Carpenter plans to retire January 1, 2015. Carpenter has been with McCormick for more than 30 years and has served there as an executive officer since his appointment to his current position in 2008.

  • Wet Seal launches Wet Seal + Plus banner Aug. 16

    Foothill Ranch, Calif. – The Wet Seal Inc. is launching its new Wet Seal + Plus banner with 30 new stores opening Aug. 16. The stores are opening in California, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia.
