  • UPS Store expands 3D printing to 100 additional locations

    San Diego -- Following the successful launch of 3D print in six markets across the country, The UPS Store announced it is is expanding 3D printing services to meet the growing demands of its small business customers to nearly 100 additional locations nationwide.

  • Potomac Mills adds new retailers

    Woodbridge, Va. - Potomac Mills, an outlet and value retail shopping center in the Washington, D.C., area with more than 220 stores, is adding A|X Armani Exchange, Steve Madden, an outlet concept for Swarovski and a first-in-market location for Great American Cookies. Potomac Mills also recently added Factory Outlet, Kate Spade New York Outlet, Charlotte Russe and a first-in-state location for The Limited Outlet.

  • DD’s Discounts opens Orlando store

    Dublin, Calif. – DD’s Discounts, a division of Ross Stores Inc., will open a new store in Orlando on Sept. 27. The store is located in the Century Plaza. 

    Including this new location, DD’s Discounts will operate approximately 150 locations in 13 states and is on schedule to complete its expansion plan to open approximately 20 locations in 2014. Together, Ross Dress for Less and DD’s Discounts currently operate more than 1,300 off-price apparel and home fashion stores in 33 states, the District of Columbia and Guam.

  • Sportsman’s Warehouse to open Colorado, Arizona stores

    Midvale, Utah - Sportsman's Warehouse is expanding with new locations in Sheridan, Colorado and Flagstaff, Arizona. The Sheridan store will be the fifth Sportsman's Warehouse location in the state of Colorado and the Flagstaff location will be the fourth location in the state of Arizona.

    Both of these stores are planned to open in the summer 2015. These locations are part of the eight new stores that Sportsman's Warehouse plans to open in 2015.

  • Shopify to launch fifth annual Build A Business competition

    Leading commerce platform Shopify is gearing up for its fifth annual Build A Business competition, which it touts as the world's biggest entrepreneurial contest encouraging anyone with a great business idea to start selling.

  • McAlister’s Deli to expand franchises in five states

    Alpharetta, Ga. - McAlister's Deli has signed an agreement with existing franchise group Southern Deli Holdings LLC to open 10 additional locations throughout North and South Carolina, Colorado and Wyoming, with three locations slated to open in late 2014. In addition, the franchise group recently acquired seven existing locations in St. Louis.

    The new development commitments will result in two new restaurants per year during the next five years.

  • Report: Tesco suspends execs who overstated profit

    New York -- British supermarket retailer Tesco suspended four executives, including its U.K. managing director, after revealing that its half-year profit was overstated by $407 million, the BBC reported. The retailer has launched an investigation headed by Deloitte.

    Tesco CEO Dave Lewis, who took over the struggling company in September, said the decision to ask employees to stand aside was not an indication of guilt or that disciplinary action was warranted. He declined to speculate on what the investigation might turn up.

     

  • Hhgregg woos Chicagoland shoppers with sweepstakes

    Appliance, electronics and furniture retailer Hhgregg is looking to drive traffic to its stores via a partnership with the Chicago Bears that will award seven fans with a VIP game-day experience.

    In addition, as a partner of the team, the inaugural Chicago Bears’ street team will be named the Chicago Bears Monster Squad powered by Hhgregg.
