  • Lids acquires Buckeye Corner

    Indianapolis -- Lids Sports Group announced the acquisition of Buckeye Corner stores, which operates four stores in the Columbus, Ohio, area. The acquisition also includes Buckeye’s e-commerce website and a catalog business.

    Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

  • 7-Eleven to convert Mother Hubbard c-stores to own banner

    Chicago -- A Friday report by the Quad City Business Journal said that 7-Eleven will rebrand its previously acquired 14-store Mother Hubbard chain into 7-Eleven stores.

    After acquiring the Mother Hubbard’s stores in early 2010 from MHC Convenience LLC, 7-Eleven Inc. announced that it plans to rebrand all 14 stores and offer them for franchise. The sale involved 16 Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard stores, but two in Bettendorf, Iowa, are not currently slated for conversion.

  • Fortune Brands names SVP, CFO home and security unit

    DEERFIELD, Ill. — Fortune Brands announced that it has named E. Lee Wyatt as SVP and CFO of its home and security unit.

    Wyatt was most recently EVP and CFOat HanesBrands. Prior to joining HanesBrands in advance of its 2006 spin-off, Wyatt served as a VP of Sara Lee and as CFO of Sara Lee branded apparel from 2005 to 2006. His previous executive leadership positions include serving as EVP, CFO and treasurer of Sonic Automotive and as VP administration and CFO of Sealy Corporation.

  • WP Realty acquires Chesterfield Marketplace

    Midlothian, Va. -- Bryn Mawr, Pa.-based WP Realty announced Thursday that it has acquired Chesterfield Marketplace located in Midlothian, Va.

    This transaction marks WP Realty’s 10th acquisition of the year.

    Chesterfield Marketplace is a one-story, 428,576-sq.-ft. community shopping center anchored by PetSmart, Staples and TJ Maxx, and shadow anchored by Home Depot and Toys “R” Us.

    The portion of the center acquired, 197,942 sq. ft., is currently 54% occupied with 91,232 sq. ft. of available space.

  • Kenneth Cole names CEO

    New York City -- Kenneth Cole Productions announced that effective June 20, 2011, Paul Blum will be appointed to the position of CEO. Kenneth Cole will continue as chairman and chief creative officer, maintaining his creative role over design and advertising.

    Hired in March as vice chairman, Blum brings over 25 years of experience in footwear, accessories, apparel, wholesaling and retailing to the position. He most recently held the position of CEO at luxury jewelry company David Yurman.
     

  • FM Facility Maintenance acquires US Signs

    Hartford, Conn. -- FM Facility Maintenance, a leading provider of facility management for clients with multisite restaurant and retail locations,  announced that it has acquired the assets and certain liabilities of US Signs. With this acquisition, FM Facility Maintenance strengthens its position as a service provider of facility maintenance services to customers with a national footprint.

  • NCR adds Blockbuster kiosks to Food Lion stores

    New York City -- NCR is adding 800 Blockbuster Express kiosks to Food Lion grocery stores despite litigation over the Blockbuster Express trademark with Blockbuster and Dish Network Corp., which bought Blockbuster out of bankruptcy in late April.

    The kiosks will be added to Food Lions across the mid-Atlantic and southeastern U.S. regions.
