  • Arby’s signs multiple franchise agreements

    Atlanta - Arby's Restaurant Group Inc. (ARG), franchisor of Arby’s, has signed development agreements with new and existing franchisees. ARG recently sold 14 company-operated restaurants in Tampa, Fla., to Mosaic Investments Inc., a fully integrated investment firm based in Atlanta. In addition to remodeling existing locations slated to commence at the end of 2014, Mosaic has committed to build 13 new Arby's restaurants in the Tampa area during the next nine years.

  • Pier 1 accused of bias against pregnant workers

    San Jose, Calif. -- Pier 1 Imports is facing criticism this week for its policies regarding leave for pregnant workers. Nearly 50,000 people have signed a petition from anti-sexism group UltraViolet to demand Pier 1 stop what the petition says is discrimination against pregnant workers.

  • Top ops exec departs RadioShack

    Troy Risch resigned his position EVP of store operations at RadioShack the company disclosed in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday.

  • Lauter + Gallagher will develop marketing strategies

    Los Angeles — Brooke Lauter and Nadene Gallagher, two Southern California marketing executives known for creating successful branding and marketing solutions for corporate and entrepreneurial clients, have joined forces to form Lauter + Gallagher.  

  • Aveda Salon headed to Sierra Vista

    Sierra Vista, Ariz. — The Realm Salon, an approved Aveda Salon, is opening a new 1,500-sq.-ft. full-service salon in Indian Hills Plaza in Sierra Vista, Ariz. The new salon plans to open by June 1.

    First West Properties Corporation represented the tenant in the transaction. Commercial Retail Advisors represented the landlord, Indian Hills Investors.

     

  • The Melting Pot plans North America expansion

    Tampa, Fla. - The Melting Pot Restaurants  plans to expand its footprint in select markets throughout the U.S., and Canada. Domestically, the company is looking to recruit new franchisees in cities such as Anchorage, Alaska; Little Rock, Ark.; Fresno, Calif.; Hartford, Conn.; Des Moines, Iowa; New York City; Chattanooga, Tenn.; Charleston, S.C.; and Portland, Maine, as well as Houston and El Paso, Texas.

  • Campbell’s hires Walmart’s social exec

    Umang Shah was named global director for social media and digital marketing at Campbell’s after serving in a similar capacity at Walmart for the past two years.

  • Peter Millar is coming to Madison Avenue in NYC

    New York — Faith Hope Consolo, chairman, and Joseph Aquino, executive VP, of Douglas Elliman’s Retail Group have arranged a first New York flagship for luxury apparel and accessories brand Peter Millar on Madison Avenue, between 54th and 55th Streets.

    "This label is a perfect fit for the Madison and Worth Avenues of the world," said Consolo.

    Consolo and Aquino represented the landlord, E PLUS E LLC, and Hanley Advisors represented the tenant.
