  • L.L. Bean to open in Mall of America

    New York -- L.L. Bean plans to open a 29,000-sq.-ft. store in Mall of America, Bloomington, Minnesota, the Star-Tribune reported. It will be the Freeport, Maine-based retailer’s first ever location west of the Mississippi River.

    The store will be an anchor tenant in the mall, taking over a former Bloomingdale’s location, the report said.
     

     

  • Newell Rubbermaid to open global e-commerce hub in NYC

    Newell Rubbermaid is looking to expand its e-commerce business and accelerate its online revenue growth worldwide by opening a global e-commerce hub in New York. The move will create more than 30 new positions.

  • Ross opens two new California stores Oct. 11

    Dublin, Calif. - Ross Dress for Less will open two new stores in the California Central Valley on Oct. 11. The stores are located in Bakersfield Plaza in Bakersfield and the Delano Marketplace in Delano.  

    These new openings are part of the retailer’s 2014 expansion program, totaling approximately 75 new locations during the year. 

     

  • Sears Canada CEO announces resignation

    Sears Canada president and CEO Douglas C. Campbell has resigned his spot so he can return to the United States by the end of the calendar year to tend to personal family issues. The board will commence a search for a new CEO immediately.

    Campbell intends to continue as the CEO until Sears Canada names a replacement, but no later than January 1, 2015.

  • Jon Kubo returns to The Wet Seal; named executive VP and chief digital officer

    Foothills Ranch, Calif. -- The Wet Seal named Jon Kubo as executive VP and chief digital officer, a newly created position, effective Oct. 6. Kubo will oversee e-commerce, digital marketing and the information technology organization to integrate digital consumer experiences across all business touch points.

  • Johnny Rockets enters Bolivia

    Aliso Viejo, Calif. – Johnny Rockets has signed a development agreement with The Daher Group, to open Bolivia's first Johnny Rockets restaurant in Santa Cruz's Ventura Mall, the largest shopping center and first modern mall in the country. Johnny Rockets will join Ventura Mall's Gastronomic Boulevard, a central location in the modern mall designed for restaurants, coffee shops and snacks.  

  • Hormel Foods promotes three top execs

    Three executives at Hormel Foods will be advancing to new roles as of Oct. 28.

    Mark D. Vaupel, currently director of information technology services, will advance to VP of information technology services. Swen Neufeldt, currently director of business development in Asia, general manager of China and VP of Hormel Foods International, will advance to president of Asia Pacific, Hormel Foods International. And Jeffrey A. Grev, currently director of corporate development, will advance to director of legislative affairs.

  • Simon to bring AC Hotels by Marriott to Phipps Plaza

    Indianapolis - Simon and Noble Investment Group, a real estate private equity firm, which specializes in the lodging and hospitality real estate sector, have launched a joint venture that will bring the AC Hotels by Marriott brand to Phipps Plaza, a luxury shopping destination located in Atlanta's Buckhead district.
