BRUSSELS, Belgium — Belgian international food retailer Delhaize Group announced that Roland Smith, CEO of Delhaize America, and Pierre-Olivier Beckers, CEO of Delhaize Group, are leaving the company.

Camp Hill, Pa. – Rite Aid Corp. has promoted Tammy Royer, a long-time member of Rite Aid’s pharmacy division, to group VP of managed care. In her new role, Royer will oversee all aspects of managed care, including contracting, maintaining relationships with managed care organizations, pharmacy benefit managers and third-party payers and developing new strategic partnerships.

Atlanta -- Small businesses are optimistic with regards to the upcoming holiday season, with 41% of businesses expecting a much stronger holiday season in 2013 than 2012, according to a survey by Kabbage, an online provider of working capital.

Small businesses also plan to increase their borrowing for the remainder of 2013 in order to meet the robust demand, the survey reported.  

Other key findings from the survey include:

Chicago -- Whole Foods Market plans to open an 18,000-sq.-ft. store on Chicago’s South Side, in the impoverished Englewood neighborhood, in 2015. The store will be built as part of a larger development at the northwest corner of South Halsted and West 63rd Streets. The retail portion of the site is being developed by DL3.

New York -- A controversial bill requiring Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and other large retailers to pay their employees a "living wage" of at least $12.50 an hour has been sent to District of Columbia Mayor Vincent Gray.   
    
The mayor has 10 business days, starting Tuesday, to either sign or veto the bill, which was passed by the D.C. Council at the beginning of July.

Lowe’s has appointed Michael P. McDermott to the newly created position of SVP and general merchandising manager-building and maintenance.

McDermott will be responsible for the Lumber & Building Materials, Millwork, Hardware & Tools and Rough Plumbing & Electrical divisions. He will report to chief merchandising officer Michael A. Jones.

Chicago -- Jones Lang LaSalle has brought on Adam Cody as a VP in its Chicago office. He will work with executive VPs Lew Kornberg and Walter Wahlfeldt to expand the firm's retail tenant representation capabilities.

NORTHFIELD, Ill. — Kraft Foods Group has appointed former Procter & Gamble executive Teri List-Stoll as the company's SVP of finance, succeeding current CFO Timothy McLevish in the first quarter of 2014.
