  • Overstock.com promotes five execs, one resigns

    Salt Lake City – Overstock.com has promoted one executive to the position of senior VP, general counsel and also promoted four other executives to VP positions. The company named VP and general counsel Mark Griffin to the position of senior VP and general counsel, and promoted four other executives to VP.

  • Hudson’ Bay Co.’s CFO resigns

    Toronto -- Michael Culhane, CFO of Hudson’s Bay Company, has resigned following a leave of absence from the company.  

    Culhane went on personal leave on January 22, at which time COO and president Donald Watros was appointed acting CFO. He will continue in that role until a permanent replacement is named.

    “This is the ideal time for me to leave HBC as the company is well positioned for the future,” said Culhane. “I wish all of HBC’s associates and business partners continued success.”

  • Tractor Supply adds Luxottica exec to board

    Tractor Supply Company has elected Mark J. Weikel to the company's board of directors. Weikel currently serves as president and CEO of Luxottica Retail Optical North America.

    Prior to his various positions at Luxottica, Weikel served as COO of Lord & Taylor. Before Lord & Taylor, Weikel was president & COO of Victoria's Secret Stores at Limited Brands. Earlier in his career, Weikel held several management positions at the May Department Stores Company.

  • Roundy’s makes public offering of 8.8 million shares

    Milwaukee -- Roundy’s, Inc. has set the pricing of an underwritten public offering of about 8.8 million shares of its common stock at a price to the public of $7 per share. The company is offering 2.9 million shares of its common stock, and certain selling stockholders are offering 5.9 million shares of Roundy’s common stock.

  • Giant Carlisle searches for new president

    Rick Herring, president of Ahold USA’s Giant Carlisle Division, plans to retire, effective Feb. 14.

    Herring has been at Ahold for nearly 25 years and the company credits him with having made many contributions to the organization.

    “We would like to thank Rick for his numerous contributions to our companies, as well as for his leadership, dedication and years of service," stated James McCann, Ahold USA COO. "We wish him all the best in this next phase of his life and career.”

    Brentwood, Tenn. – Tractor Supply Company has named Mark J. Weikel to the company's board of directors. Weikel currently serves as president and CEO of Luxottica Retail Optical North America.

  • Estée Lauder taps new SVP of Global Corporate Innovation

    The Estée Lauder Cos., whose brands include Aveda, Bumble and Bumble, American Beauty, Flirt! and M•A•C Cosmetics, has appointed Guillaume Jesel to the newly created position of SVP/general manager, Global Corporate Innovation.

    Jesel will transition from his current role as SVP global and North America marketing for M•A•C Cosmetics to his new position, effective March 31. In his position, Jesel will report to Carl Haney, EVP global research and development, corporate product innovation, package development for Estée Lauder Co.

  • Walmart west expands digital footprint

    The San Jose Mercury News is reporting that Walmart has expanded and already sizable footprint in the San Francisco bay area.
    Walmart opened a new office in Sunnyvale, about 30 miles south of its Global eCommerce and @Walmart Labs headquarter in San Bruno, that employs 500 people, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
