  • Nasty Gal promotes president to CEO as founder Sophia Amoruso steps down

    Los Angeles -- Millennial fashion authority and online retailer Nasty Gal has tapped Sheree Waterson has CEO, effective immediately. Waterson, promoted from her position as president and chief product officer, which she has held since early 2014, previously was lululemon athletica’s executive VP and chief product officer.

    Founder Sophia Amoruso will continue as executive chairman to oversee creative and brand marketing functions.

  • RadioShack offered $500 million loan from Salus Capital

    New York -- RadioShack could receive another dose of life support. According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, Salus Capital Partners has offered to provide $500 million to RadioShack Corp. in a kind of debtor-in-possession loan used by companies to fund operations in bankruptcy.

  • Fred's hires former Family Dollar exec as COO

    Fred's Super Dollar has turned to a former Family Dollar and CVS executive to become its next president and chief operating officer.

    Michael Bloom brings to Fred's more than 30 years of experience in small-box general merchandising, supply chain management and store operations, the company said. Most recently, he served as the president and COO of Family Dollar Stores.

  • Quiznos names restaurant vet as new president and CEO

    Denver -- Sandwich quick-serve chain Quizno’s has named Doug Pendergast as its new president and CEO, succeeding Stuart Mathis, who resigned the company.

    Pendergast joins Quizno’s from The Krystal Co., where he was president and CEO; he also has held senior executive positions with Craftworks, Church’s Chicken and AFC Enterprises.

  • Container Store chief Kip Tindell succeeds Saks’ Sadove as chairman of NRF board

    New York -- The National Retail Federation announced that The Container Store chairman and CEO Kip Tindell has been elected chairman of the NRF board of directors and chairman of its executive committee, succeeding Stephen I. Sadove, retired chairman and CEO of Saks, Inc.  

    Tindell was elected at the Board of Directors meeting held Sunday during NRF’s 104th Annual Convention and EXPO, Retail’s BIG Show.

  • Fresh Market seeks fresh CEO

    The Fresh Market is heading into the new year with fresh leadership changes at the top.

    The specielty grocery retailer announced that Craig Carlk, president and CEO, and a member of the board of directors, has left the company and has resigned as a member of the board.

    The board has appointed Sean Crane, EVP and COO, as interim CEO while the company evaluates candidates to replace Carlock.
