  • Brixmor appoints new chief investment officer

    New York -- Brixmor Property Group named Michael Hyun as its new chief investment officer and as a member of the Company's Management Committee, effective Dec. 14. Hyun will be responsible for the strategic and day-to-day oversight of business development, portfolio management and capital recycling for Brixmor.

  • Gap exec rejoins company as board member

    Veteran apparel retailer Tracy Gardner will join the Gap Inc. board, effective Nov. 11.

    Gap has relied on Gardner on multiple occasions the past 25 years as an employee and advisor. Gardner worked at the company from 1991 to 1994 in various creative roles and from 1998 to 2004 in senior leadership positions, including head of Gap adult merchandising. This past year she served as an advisor to the Gap brand and functioned in a similar role in 2012.

  • Lululemon restructures executive team

    Lululemon Athletica’s chief product officer has left the company and other key executives are in new roles as the company looks to increase innovation and execute a 10 year vision.

    The operator of 336 stores named expanded the responsibilities of CFO Stuart Haselden and he now adds the title of executive VP of operations. Haselden joined the company early this year after serving as CFO of J. Crew. The company has also initiated a search to fill the newly created position of chief supply chain officer.

  • Crown Center names new president

    Kansas City, Mo. -- Crown Center Redevelopment Corporation headquarter in Kansas City, Missouri, has named Stacey Paine as its new president.

    Paine will replace Bill Lucas who is retiring at year-end after serving 20 years as the president of Crown Center, an 85-acre mixed-use community, privately financed by Hallmark Cards, Inc., that combines 2.2 million sq. ft. of office space, retail, hotels, residential and entertainment attractions within its boundaries.

  • Proposed legislation would limit ADA-related ‘drive-by’ lawsuits

    The International Council of Shopping Centers is among the groups endorsing proposed legislation that seeks to limit what it called an “unintended consequence” of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

  • Abercrombie taps seasoned HR exec to head up diversity efforts

    Abercrombie & Fitch continues its efforts to polish its brand image.

    The retailer announced that Jeanetta Darno has joined the company as VP of diversity and inclusion in a role that will include “enhancing the existing global diversity and inclusion best practices throughout the organization.”

  • Amazon.com is increasing its holiday workforce by 25%

    Amazon.com is increasing the number of workers it is hiring for the holidays this year to meet an increase in customer demand, revealing a possible shift in the way consumers shop.

    The retailer says it plans to hire more than 100,000 seasonal employees this year. It hired 80,000 seasonal employees in 2014.

  • Sports Authority enters the holiday hiring game

    Sports Authority is joining other top retailers with plans to fortify their employee ranks for the holidays.

    The sporting goods retailer announced it will hire 3,500 temporary employees across the country to meet consumer demand during the 2015 holiday season. All Sports Authority locations will begin hiring in mid-October and continue through December. Sports Authority plans to convert hundreds of seasonal workers into permanent Team Members after the holidays.
