  • Stage Stores names president, COO of South Hill division

    Houston -- Stage Stores announced that Mike Searles has joined the company as president and COO of its South Hill Division, which is headquartered in South Hill, Va.

    Searles will be responsible for all operations of the South Hill Division, including merchandising, planning and allocation, and store operations. He has served as chairman and CEO of Wilsons Leather Stores, and Factory 2-U Stores, in addition to holding senior executive level positions at several other national retail chains.

  • Sears names new supply chain leader

    HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Sears Holdings announced that former UPS executive Raj Penkar is joining the company as SVP and president of the company's supply chain.

    In his new role, Penkar will be accountable for all aspects of the company's supply chain, including logistics, warehousing, inventory management and distribution. Prior to joining Sears, Penkar worked at UPS for 24 years and most recently served as president of UPS' customer solutions division.

  • Sears appoints supply chain head

    Hoffman Estates, Ill. -- Sears Holdings announced that Raj Penkar will be joining Sears Holdings on Sept. 15 as senior VP and president, supply chain. He will be accountable for all aspects of the company's supply chain, including logistics, warehousing, inventory management and distribution. 

    Penkar joins Sears Holdings following a successful 24-year career at UPS, where he most recently served as president of UPS' customer solutions division.
     

  • Butterball names new CEO

    GARNER, N.C. — Butterball LLC, the nation’s largest turkey producer, has announced the appointment of Rod Brenneman as the company’s new CEO. After an extensive search, the company came back to its first and number one candidate, who has been filling the role as interim CEO and is already familiar with the organization.

  • Casto names property management VP

    Columbus, Ohio -- Casto said Wednesday that Larry Schwenker has joined the firm as VP property management.

    Schwenker’s primary focus will be on the organization’s Midwest and Alabama commercial portfolio, which totals approximately 15 million sq. ft.

    Schwenker was most recently a principal at Bryant Management Services, based in Atlanta.
     

  • NRF asks deficit reduction committee to focus on job growth

    WASHINGTON — The National Retail Federation announced that it has sent a letter to the congressional “super committee” on deficit reduction urging the panel to focus on initiatives that will boost the economy and create jobs.

  • Grosvenor Americas makes executive appointments

    Washington, D.C. -- Grosvenor Americas said Wednesday it has appointed Jonathan E. Carr to the position of development manager in the company’s Washington, D.C., office. He previously held the same title in Grosvenor Americas’ San Francisco office.

    The company also announced that Michael Ward has been appointed to the position of VP in the company’s Calgary office. He previously served as VP for Grosvenor Americas in Washington, D.C.
