    Arlington, Va. – With the deadline to resolve the union contract negotiations at West Coast closing in, the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) on Friday said that undertaking essential measures to avoid work stoppage and preserve reliable channels for retail supply chains should be the top priority.

  • Stego embarks on carbon footprint project

    Chicago -- Stego Industries, a provider of in below-slab moisture vapor protection, has launched an ambitious new company-level initiative to eliminate the carbon emissions of its business operations.

    The initiative, Stego’s Carbon Footprint Project, took another step toward this goal at the American Association of Architects (AIA) National Convention in Chicago last week by purchasing carbon offsets for all of the company’s air travel in 2013 — some 115 metric tons — through the TerraPass Carbon Balanced Business Program.

CVS Caremark received a Gold Award for its WellRewards employee wellness program, while Walgreens received a gold award for its “You and Walgreens” company wellness program.

    Peoria, Ill. — Cullinan Properties has promoted Kathleen Cullinan Brill to VP, director of leasing. In her new role, Brill will direct the leasing, sales and marketing functions of Cullinan Properties while managing third party broker relationships.

    Since joining Cullinan in 2006, Brill has completed over 1,000,000 sq. ft. of transactions, including big-box and junior anchor retailers such as Target, Costco, Gordmans and Hy-Vee as well as numerous national and regional small shop tenants and restaurants.

    Washington, D.C. - The National Retail Federation (NRF) and the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) have asked an appeals court to overturn a federal judge’s approval of a lawsuit settlement regarding Visa and MasterCard’s credit card swipe fees, saying it was negotiated by only a handful of merchants and would do nothing to bring the fees under control.
