According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Gainesville’s population has grown by nearly 15% since 2020, largely due to the draw of Lake Lanier and migration from Atlanta suburbs. Branch says Lakeshore’s redevelopment will function as a new town center and expand the city’s retail and residential landscape.
“Lakeshore’s position within Gainesville’s booming residential market presents the ideal opportunity for its transformation into a vibrant town center offering premier shopping, dining and entertainment,” added Shannon. “The redesigned destination will fit seamlessly into the community, meeting the needs of Gainesville’s rapidly growing population. We are grateful for the city's and the community's support as we work toward this vision.”
Founded in 1973 and based in Atlanta, Branch Properties and its affiliated companies have acquired, developed, and managed over $5 billion of commercial real estate, accounting for more than 12 million sq. ft. of leasable space.
