BJ’s kicking off 2024 expansion

BJ's Wholesale Club
BJ’s currently operates 241 clubs in 20 states.

BJ’s Wholesale Club is set to open its first location of the new year.

The membership warehouse club retailer will open a store in North Jacksonville, Fla., on Friday, Jan. 12. The new club, which will include a BJ’s Gas on site, will be the company’s 37th location in the Sunshine State.

BJ’s has been on an expansion roll. The company opened its second location in Tennesee, in Mt. Juliet, in December, as well as its eighth location in Ohio, in Lewis Center. In November, BJ’s entered Alabama, opening a club in Madison.

Similar to its other locations, BJ’s new Florida club will feature an assortment of fresh foods, produce, full-service deli offerings, bakery goods, grocery staples and household essentials. It will also include home décor items, toys, tech products and pet supplies. Curbside pickup, in-club pickup, same-day delivery and standard delivery will be available.

“We’re excited to start the new year by providing unbeatable value and convenience to North Jacksonville,” said Tom Condon, club manager, North Jacksonville BJ’s Wholesale Club. “Our mission is to serve the families who depend on us by delivering up to 25% off grocery store prices every day.”

BJ’s has a longstanding commitment to nourishing its communities and is partnering with Feeding Northeast Florida, a food bank serving the Jacksonville community. Once the new club is open, BJ’s will donate unsold produce, meat, dairy and more to the food bank every week to support families in need.

In addition, BJ’s has donated more than $40,000 to fund classroom projects in 55 Jacksonville area schools, helping provide teachers and students the resources they need to succeed. BJ’s Charitable Foundation partners with DonorsChoose, a national non-profit organization, to help meet needs for classroom supplies.

Based in Marlborough, Mass., BJ’s  currently operates 241 clubs and 172 BJ’s Gas locations in 20 states.
