BJ’s expanding in New York

BJ’s Wholesale Club is on track to open about 10 locations this year.

BJ’s Wholesale Club continues its growth spree.

The membership warehouse club retailer will open a store in Greenburgh, New York, which is about 25 miles north of New York City, on Oct. 28. The new location will be BJ’s 47th in the Empire State, and bring its total store count to 232.

BJ’s is on track to open approximately 10 locations this year. In May, the company debuted a new club concept, called BJ's market, in Warwick, R.I. At 43,000 sq. ft., the new format is about half the size of a full-sized BJ’s.

More recently, at the end of September, BJ’s opened its first location in Indiana, in Noblesville.

Earlier this month, BJ’s completed its move to a new corporate headquarters. The state-of-the-art facility incorporates modern open-space concepts and the latest technology to serve BJ’s 1,000-plus team members who work at the new location.
