Bed Bath & Beyond is bringing a company veteran back into the fold ahead of its latest acquisition.

The company has named Glen Cary as the new chief of stores for Bed Bath & Beyond and its family of brands. Cary brings more than 25 years of senior retail leadership to the company, including over a decade at Bed Bath & Beyond where he served as Bed Bath & Beyond’s chief of stores as well as president of Buybuy Baby.

The announcement comes just weeks after Bed Bath & Beyond entered a merger deal to acquire The Brand House Collective (formerly Kirkland’s) for $26.8 million in a move to create an “everything home” company.

The deal, which has been unanimously approved by boards of both companies, is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026 pending shareholder approval and the consent of lender Bank of America. The two companies have been working together since September 2024, when Kirkland’s entered into a deal that would result in the return of Bed Bath & Beyond brick-and-mortar stores to the U.S. retail landscape.

“Glen knows our brands, our teams, and our customers and my expectations around the growth of our customer file and our financial performance,” said Amy Sullivan, CEO of The Brand House Collective. “His ability to effectively operate large‑scale operations and do so with service-oriented profit centric mindset is what motivated me to have him lead our field organization.”

Cary’s time at Bed Bath & Beyond was broken up by a two year stint when he served as chief operating officer at discount retailer 99 Cents Only Stores. From August 2023 to April 2025, he served as chief stores officer at Buybuy Baby.

“Glen is in lock step with the expectations we are setting for Bed Bath & Beyond and understands how operating great stores requires the highest standard of experience for both the employee and the customer,” said Marcus Lemonis, executive chairman of Bed Bath & Beyond. “His experience will drive a capital efficient modernization of our fleet, strengthen operational discipline, and support all phases of growth across stores, digital, and franchise together.”
