Amazon supports water non-profit with ‘Get Blue’ initiative, storefront

Get Blue water initiative
Amazon is supporting water accessibility.

Amazon is taking several steps to assist a global non-profit that works to provide people in poverty with water access.

In January 2026, the online giant served as a founding partner for Get Blue, a global movement that aims to help solve the water crisis, with GapStarbucks and Ecolab as founding partners. Other partners include AccuWeather, Ripple, and TikTok

Launched at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Get Blue supports global water non-profit Water.org, which works with local financial institutions to extend affordable loans to families so they can have access to water and sanitation infrastructure in their communities.

Amazon customers can help support the Get Blue initiative by shopping a dedicated storefront featuring exclusive items such as Gap's limited-edition Get Blue collection, blue vinyl records from artists participating in the program, and special product selections from brands such as E.l.f., Hydro Flask, and Olive and June.

The storefront is designed to serve as a single destination where customers can discover and purchase products as well as learn about the global water crisis and take action.

In addition, customers who have Echo devices equipped with the next-gen Alexa+ voice model or using the Alexa site or app can say "Alexa, donate to Get Blue,” and Amazon will contribute $5 to Water.org. There’s no cost to the customer, and each customer can trigger one Amazon-funded donation. Customers who wish to give more can do so at Water.org. According to Amazon, every $5 donation provides one person with lasting safe water access for more than 20 years.

And through the Amazon Music “Stream It Forward” campaign, every time a customer listens to a participating artist’s “Rediscover” playlist, Amazon donates $1 to Water.org.

Stream It Forward artists include The All-American Rejects, The Beach Boys, Cody Simpson, Dierks Bentley, Diplo, Dylan Gossett, Jon Pardi, Josh Groban, Kami Kehoe, Lainey Wilson, Major Lazer, Ne-Yo, Parker McCollum, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Sebastian Yatra, Walk Off the Earth, The War and Treaty, and Warren Zeiders. The playlists feature a special Get Blue design and can be found on the Amazon Music homepage.

Consumers don’t need a paid subscription to participate; they can open Amazon Music and hit play. Since 2020, Amazon says it has supported access to safe water or sanitation for more than 1.25 million people through Water.org's solution.
