Amazon continues to grow its fast delivery grocery partnership program.

In an email to Chain Store Age, an Amazon spokesperson said the company is now offering same-day grocery delivery from select Metropolitan Market locations serving customers in the Greater Seattle area and adding six stores to its existing grocery delivery service with Weis Markets.

Since 2023, Amazon has been enabling customers without a Prime membership to order delivery from a variety of local grocery and specialty retailers available on Amazon.com, including Lucky Supermarkets as well as Weis Markets.

However, Prime members can sign up for a monthly ($9.99) or annual ($99.99) grocery delivery subscription which offers unlimited grocery delivery on orders over $35 across Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, and a variety of local grocery and specialty retailers.

"By teaming up with well-loved grocers like Metropolitan Market, we’re offering our customers in the Greater Seattle area even more selection, value, and convenience as they shop for their favorite foods online," said Christian Seitel, Amazon head of U.S. grocery partnerships, in the email. "We look forward to expanding our two-hour delivery window offering to more Metropolitan Market and Weis Markets locations in the future."

"Collaborating with Amazon aligns with our ongoing commitment to serving our guests where they are and providing them with the highest quality food and ingredients they have come to know and love from our stores."

To celebrate the launch, Amazon is offering Prime members free delivery on their first three orders of $10 or more.
