Aldi expands Instacart partnership with new U.S. website
A fast-growing discount supermarket retailer is teaming up with a grocery technology company to offer more seamless, personalized online shopping.
Aldi U.S. is launching a redesigned e-commerce site based on the Storefront Pro, the end-to-end customizable e-commerce solution built specifically for supermarket retailers by Instacart.
Aldi is revamping its website and app to deliver better personalized product recommendations, enhanced product discovery, and expanded meal planning support through shoppable recipes using Instacart e-commerce and fulfillment functionality.
"Shoppers define value in more ways than one — often by saving both time and money," said Dave Rinaldo, COO at Aldi U.S. "As customers look for more flexibility, our partnership with Instacart enhances the Aldi online experience, giving the one in three U.S. households that shop our aisles another convenient way to get their groceries when and how they want."
Aldi began offering online delivery in the U.S. via Instacart in 2017 and has since added new Instacart-based solutions such as Aldi Express, a virtual convenience store supported by the grocery technology company.
In addition, Aldi has implemented several Instacart Connected Stores solutions, a suite of technologies intended to help grocers build a unified, seamless and personalized experience.
“Aldi is known for offering their customers incredible value, and we're proud to partner with them to make sure that value translates seamlessly into their digital experience," said Ryan Hamburger, VP of commercial partnerships at Instacart. "What makes this partnership special is that it goes beyond e-commerce. By combining Storefront Pro and fulfillment into one integrated platform, we're helping Aldi U.S. scale faster while preserving everything that makes their brand special. We're proud to deepen our partnership and support their continued expansion across the U.S."
The new Aldi website and app are available now across the U.S.
Headquartered in Batavia, Ill., Aldi U.S. operates approximately 2,600 stores across 40 states. San Francisco-based Instacart partners with more than 2,200 North American retail banners representing nearly 100,000 stores.
