Albertsons integrates Apple data into digital health platform

Albertsons Companies Inc. is offering rewards to Apple Watch and iPhone users who meet their fitness goals.

The grocery giant is collaborating with Apple to bring activity data from Apple Watch and iPhone devices to its recently launched Sincerely Health digital health and wellness platform.

Customers who wear Apple Watch Series 3 or later can now link their Activity app fitness data with their Sincerely Health account and earn up to 75 points daily for closing all three Activity app rings: Move, Exercise and Stand. Consumers who do not have an Apple Watch can connect their iPhone with iOS 16 through the Fitness app and earn up to 25 points each day for closing their Move ring.

Sincerely Health enables users to link activity trackers, as well as log their vitals and medication regimen. Customers can then set goals to improve their health score, track their progress, and receive actionable insights and rewards for achieving those goals.

Sincerely Health also offers an online pharmacy solution that includes tools for managing prescriptions, scheduling vaccine appointments, and connecting users with general practitioners via telehealth services.

Albertsons built Sincerely Health in collaboration with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and health-focused technology companies. The retailer also collected feedback from over 10,000 customers and associates, and says the platform will continually develop new features, collaborations and enhancements based on customer feedback.

Additionally, all Sincerely Health users can improve their overall health score on the platform and earn points toward grocery coupons and discounts by setting up one or multiple goals related to physical activity, nutrition, lifestyle and sleep.

As of Feb. 25, 2023, Albertsons Companies operated 2,271 retail stores with 1,722 pharmacies, 401 associated fuel centers, 22 dedicated distribution centers and 19 manufacturing facilities. The company operates stores across 34 states and the District of Columbia with 24 banners including Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw's, Acme, Tom Thumb, Randalls, United Supermarkets, Pavilions, Star Market, Haggen, Carrs, Kings Food Markets and Balducci's Food Lovers Market.
