Adidas to open immersive store concept at Mall of America
An apparel and footwear giant is slated to open its first full-price store in Minnesota at North America’s largest shopping and entertainment complex.
Adidas is bringing its immersive "brand concept" store format to Mall of America. Opening in October, the 9,161-sq.-ft. location is designed to offer a shopping experience that blends performance, sport culture and personalization. Its architectural and design direction reflects Adidas’ latest global concept, featuring a modern aesthetic with a focus on product storytelling, clarity and layered visual presentation material.
The space will offer a curated mix of Adidas Originals and Badge of Sport collections, along with localized product tailored to the Minnesota community. The location will feature four immersive retail zones, including a customization area ("Made For You") that provides consumers with opportunities to personalize and customize their products through both service and product-based offerings.
Other immersive zones include one dedicated to footwear, "City Shop" and a storefront with integrated digital touchpoints. Adidas says a key highlight of the Mall of America store will be an elevated Anthony Edwards shop, celebrating the Minnesota Timberwolves superstar guard and reinforcing the brand’s connection to the local basketball culture and community.
The planned opening comes on the heels of strong financial results for Adidas to start 2026. In the first quarter, currency-neutral total revenues increased 14% versus the prior year, with footwear revenues increasing 4%, performance increasing 29% and lifestyle increasing 6%. Currency-neutral net sales in the direct-to-consumer channel increased 22% for Adidas in the first quarter, driven by double-digit growth in all markets.
