1-800-Flowers.com is preparing for Valentine’s Day with new solutions.

In time for Valentine’s Day, 1-800-Flowers.com is unveiling offerings including floral subscriptions and buy now, pay later (BNPL).

The specialty gift retailer expects to deliver approximately 23 million flowers across the U.S. for Valentine's Day, the second largest floral holiday of the year. In addition to its recent purchase of the floral livestreaming platform Alice’s Table, 1-800-Flowers.com is streamlining several aspects of its shopping experience ahead of Valentine’s Day, including:

Payment/checkout
Customers can now check out with a mobile or desktop BNPL option provided by Klarna. In addition to Klarna, 1-800-Flowers.com customers can check out with digital payment solutions including Apple Pay, PayPal, Click to Pay, and Venmo.

Shoppers can also now leverage streamlined universal checkout across the 1-800-Flowers.com portfolio of brands. In addition to 1-800-Flowers.com purchases, customers can add items in their cart from other company brands, such as Harry & David or PersonalizationMall.com, then seamlessly proceed to a single checkout process.

Subscriptions
1-800-Flowers.com has introduced a variety of new floral subscription offerings. Customers can choose from nearly 40 unique arrangements. They can also personalize the subscription and determine the frequency with which they would like to have it delivered, ranging from every week to every eight weeks.

Customer service
1-800-Flowers.com customers can contact customer care agents through two-way SMS text messaging to modify orders and learn more about their order status.

Curated assortment
1-800-Flowers.com has teamed up with astrology app Sanctuary to curate a special collection of floral bouquets that are tailored for each astrological sign.

Social influencers
1-800-Flowers.com is inviting customers to share what makes their relationship special using #ShareYourLoveStory across social media. The Valentine’s Day-focused campaign will kick off with digital videos of six real-life couples sharing their love stories and inspiring others to tell their own tales of romance. TikTok creator and influencer Eros Miranda will join the conversation, discussing modern love languages and how to use them, tips on communicating romantic feelings, and more. Specially created content has also been designed to showcase the love of unique couples.

1-800-Flowers is becoming a more digitally oriented company. In October 2021, the retailer launched a new business-to-business solution called Hero, based on technology from SmartGift. Hero, an intelligent enterprise engagement and gifting platform. The solution also provides features including same-day delivery and address-less shipping capabilities, customization offerings, and white-glove service. The retailer also recently completed the migration of its e-commerce platform and other services to Google Cloud.
