Williams Sonoma names new president

Williams-Sonoma

Williams-Sonoma has appointed a company veteran to lead its namesake brand.

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. said that Ryan Ross, president of Williams Sonoma, resigned, effective July 26, "to assume a leadership role outside of the company."

Ross, a 20-years-plus retail veteran, took the reins of the brand in 2019.

The company has appointed Felix Carbullido, executive VP and chief marketing office of Williams-Sonoma Inc., as president of Williams Sonoma. He joined the company in 2009 as the VP of Pottery Barn E-commerce and was promoted in 2011 to senior VP of Pottery Barn Direct, overseeing all aspects of the online and catalog business.

He was named chief marketing officer in 2014,  leading marketing strategy and operations across the company’s portfolio of brands.

“I am excited for the future growth opportunities we see in the Williams Sonoma brand with Felix at the helm,” said CEO Laura Alber. “He has built an incredibly talented marketing organization, and together we will launch an internal and external search for our next CMO.”

In addition to its namesake brand, Williams-Sonoma’s brands include Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, Pottery Barn Teen, West Elm, Williams Sonoma Home, Rejuvenation, and Mark and Graham.
