Westwood Contractors names Robert Benda as chief executive

Robert Benda has assumed the role of CEO of Westwood Contractors, effective February 10, 2023.

Benda has served the company in several roles since joining Westwood in 1987, most recently as chairman of the board, a position which he will continue to hold.

“I look forward to charting the path forward for the company as we continue to grow and to help position Westwood for its next 40 years of success,” said Benda. “I am excited to return to active leadership of the company and to working with our dedicated team of construction professionals to achieve the ambitious goals to which we all aspire.”

Benda is an accomplished leader in the industry as well as in the local Fort Worth, Texas, community. He was a founding member of the Retail Contractors Association (RCA) and has held positions on the boards of several prominent local and national non-profit and community service organizations focused on education, healthcare, and the construction industry trade associations.

Benda also has been recognized among Fort Worth’s ‘Top 400 most influential people’ by Fort Worth, Inc. magazine. Through his leadership and demonstrated business acumen, the company is well-positioned for the future.
