Gap Home, available exclusively on Walmart’s website, is expanding with the launch of a furniture collection.
Gap Home, the apparel retailer’s first-ever line of branded home décor products, launched on the Walmart site in June. The initial lineup included more than 400 items across home décor, tabletop, bedding and bath. The new line, Gap Home Furniture, will be priced from $49.88 – $629, will consist of more than 150 items including couches, ottomans, TV stands, headboards, rugs and more. It will roll out in the coming weeks.
In addition, in November, a capsule collection of bedding items will launch in Walmart stores for the first time.
“We have seen an incredible customer response to Gap Home since we launched in June,” said Adrienne Gernand, head of Gap Inc. strategic alliances, licensing and real estate. “Through our partnership with Walmart, we are scaling the business quickly by entering new categories within the home space and introducing an assortment of items in select Walmart stores.”
Gap is the first fashion brand to partner with Walmart in the home space.
“Over the past six months, we have received fantastic feedback from customers on our Gap Home décor, tabletop, bedding and bath options, all of which offer timeless American style for modern living,” said Anthony Soohoo, executive VP, Home, Walmart U.S. “Our customers have been spending more time in – and investing more in – their homes. This nesting trend is one we anticipate continuing, and we are committed to offering Walmart shoppers a wide variety of accessible, on-trend styles so that a beautiful home is possible for everyone. Gap Home is a key part of this effort, and there is so much more to come.”
