Kelly-Moore Paints is serving professional customers with managed Walmart GoLocal delivery.

Kelly-Moore Paints is the latest company to sign up with the Walmart GoLocal white-label delivery service.

The employee-owned paint company now offers professional painting contractors, home renovators and other business-to-business clients same- and next-day delivery of its paint and paint products from select Kelly-Moore stores across California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas, with the goal of expanding to more locations in the coming months.

Leveraging Walmart GoLocal, Kelly-Moore Paints will provide professional customers with products like interior and exterior paints, primers, stains, paint brushes and rollers, and tape, on the day an order is placed.

Walmart initially launched its white-label GoLocal “delivery-as-a-service” offering in October 2021 The managed service offering includes nationwide delivery capabilities on a range of products, including those with size and complex requirements, as well as the flexibility to meet varying timelines.

The discount giant built the service on the existing infrastructure supporting the Express Delivery same-day delivery service it rolled out in 2020. This includes drones, autonomous vehicles and market fulfillment centers.

Walmart said it plans to rapidly expand GoLocal to offer additional services. So far, these have included a partnership with e-commerce platform provider Cogentry Labs to provide an integrated white-label, turnkey e-commerce delivery solution to mid-sized and independent grocery retailers; as well as a collaboration with Delivery Solutions as a last-mile delivery service provider.

Walmart’s initial GoLocal managed delivery partner was home improvement giant The Home Depot. Utilizing GoLocal, Home Depot offers same-day and next-day delivery in select markets for items that easily fit in a car, including paint as well as fasteners and small tools. Specialty apparel retailer Chico’s FAS also partnered with Walmart GoLocal in December 2021 for same-day delivery in select markets including Chicago, Illinois, and Fort Myers, Fla., with plans to expand into other markets in 2022.

However, Kelly-Moore Paints’ GoLocal partnership is different in that it is specifically focused on commercial deliveries for business-to-business customers. Kelly-Moore Paints is the first publicly announced GoLocal client with this type of focus in its managed delivery service.

“As interest in home building and renovation continues to rise, so does the need for our merchandise and the customer desire for receiving affordable, high-quality paint and paint products quickly,” said Steve DeVoe, CEO, Kelly-Moore Paints. “We knew we had to offer fast, dependable delivery to remain competitive and Walmart GoLocal was the logical provider to meet our needs given their reach, pricing and capabilities.”

“One of Walmart GoLocal’s priorities is to support mid-sized and regional businesses with low-cost delivery capabilities, and we’re excited to add Kelly-Moore Paints to the growing list of Walmart GoLocal clients,” said Harsit Patel, GM of Walmart GoLocal. “With the continued construction boom sweeping the country, our collaboration with Kelly-Moore Paints allows them to tap further into the paint and design community, where we can collectively provide expanded customer experiences and exceptional client service.”
