Toys “R” Us to open stores in Mexico

Toys"R"Us will open new flagship locations in Mexico through partnership with EL Puerto de Liverpool.

Toys “R” is headed south of the border.

WHP Global, the parent company of Toys “R” Us, has entered into a partnership with Mexican retail El Puerto de Liverpool ("Liverpool") to launch the toy brand in Mexico for the first time.

The partnership will include the opening of multiple Toys"R"Us flagship stores in key locations across Mexico, as well as a robust e-commerce platform. The stores will offer a wide range of toys and games from top brands, including exclusive private brands. The first location will open for holiday 2023.

El Puerto de Liverpool operates 303 stores throughout Mexico, including Liverpool and Suburbia stores and 112 specialized boutiques, along with 28 shopping centers in 18 states of Mexico.

Toys"R"Us was acquired by WHP Global in 2021. In 2022, the brand expanded its presence with the national rollout of in-store shops at all Macy’s stores.  It also launched in India, United Kingdom and Australia.
