Toms names Crocs veteran to C-suite
Toms has added a new leader to its C-suite.
The socially-conscious footwear brand has named Katie Wagner as its new chief commercial officer. In the role, she will oversee all global sales channels, including wholesale sales & operations, e-commerce, and marketplaces.
Wagner spent more than 16 years at Crocs in a variety of positions, including VP of Americas wholesale. Most recently, she served as the VP of Americas sales at Heydude, which Crocs acquired in 2022. Wagner is also the founder and CEO of her own firm – Pink Clouds Consulting – which she launched in 2023.
“I had the great fortune of working with Katie at both Crocs and Melissa, so I know first-hand her unmatched ability to transform and build world-class footwear businesses,” said Toms CEO Jessica Alsing, who took the reins of the company in October. “Katie is unrivaled in building commercial relationships, laying a strong strategic foundation for sales, and bringing a creative approach to how she thinks about the omni-channel consumer experience. I'm delighted to be working with her again.”
The footwear brand says that Wagner’s “accomplished track record” makes her an ideal leader to help Toms improve operating performance and unlock new opportunities for brand expansion.
“I’m thrilled to be part of the team shaping the next chapter of this iconic brand,” said Wagner. “I’ve been a fan of Toms shoes for so many years and I’m delighted to be working to reignite its brand relevance, apply a unified marketplace approach, and usher in a more modern distribution strategy just in time for the company’s 20th anniversary.”
Founded in Venice Beach, Calif., Toms offers a selection of espadrilles, sandals, sneakers and casual dress shoes for women, men and kids. Toms shoes are sold in over 30 countries, available direct to consumers on over 10 regionalized websites and through a variety of global retail partners.
