TikTok plans early start for holiday promotions

TikTok Shop is launching holiday promotions in mid-November.

TikTok isn’t waiting for Black Friday to begin offering deals and events aimed at holiday shoppers.

The video-focused social media platform’s TikTok Shop U.S. e-commerce platform is kicking off its holiday seasonal campaign with a sale called "Brand Palooza" from Wednesday, Nov. 13 to Wednesday, Nov. 27 (the day before Thanksgiving). Brand Palooza will provide brand-focused exclusive product offers, including Phillips, Benefit Cosmetics, Liquid IV, HeyDude, and The Ordinary Store.

TikTok Shop will also feature shoppable holiday livestreams featuring influencers and celebrities, with more details to be released soon. And from Saturday, Dec. 30 to Monday, Dec. 2 (Cyber Monday), the e-tailer will launch exclusive holiday deals when someone selects Venmo as their payment method during checkout on TikTok Shop. 

U.S. users that make a purchase for the first time on TikTok Shop will receive a 25% discount on purchases of $45 or more (maximum $20 off); and TikTok Shop users that have previously made a purchase on the platform will receive a 25% discount when they spend $85 or more (maximum $35 off) by selecting Venmo as their payment method during checkout.

The Venmo promotion will apply when combined with other platform discounts. Other holiday TikTok Shop offerings include:

  • Affiliate app: This new app is designed to simplify collaboration among brands, sellers, and creators.
  • Holiday e-book:  This new resource provides sellers with practical tips to help sell merchandise on TikTok Shop.
  • Seller-creator matchmaking events: TikTok shop will bring select creators and sellers together in Los Angeles and New York ahead of Black Friday and Cyber Monday to help foster partnerships during the holiday season.

"I’m hopeful and energized by the road ahead and look forward to welcoming even more creators, merchants and brands onto TikTok Shop to join us in this next exciting phase of discovery e-commerce."
