Three digital shopping events coming this fall

Several upcoming digital sales promotions will give customers a chance to get an early start to holiday shopping.

Consumers will have the chance to participate in three different online retail promotions happening in October and November 2021.

A lot of attention is being paid to two major upcoming digital shopping events scheduled for October 2021 at Amazon and Target. However, several other significant online sales extravaganzas are also taking place this October and November.

Coresight Research, Shipt, and RetailMeNot all have online promotions scheduled for the coming weeks. Following are brief overviews of each event.

Coresight Research – 10.10 Shopping Festival
For the second straight year, retail research/advisory firm Coresight Research hosts its 10.10 Shopping Festival on October 10, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. EDT. Coresight is presenting the event in partnership with livestream shopping platforms CommentSold and Smartzer, as well as one-to-one live video co-shopping platform GhostRetail.

Coresight Research is also partnering with Access Beauty Insiders to bring more beauty brands, especially independent brands, to the event.  The festival this year is focused on accelerating U.S. consumer adoption of livestreaming.

“Livestream shopping has grown from a zero to a $300 billion industry in China in a very short period of time,” said Deborah Weinswig, CEO and founder of Coresight Research. “We are very confident that the U.S. market will reach what we are seeing in China, and the 10.10 Shopping Festival will enable retailers and brands to test and learn and grow this commerce segment. Compared to 2020, Coresight Research estimates that livestreaming e-commerce penetration in the US will more than triple by 2023, representing huge growth potential.”

Shipt – Dealivery Days
Same-day delivery service (and wholly-owned Target subsidiary) Shipt is announcing its first annual “Dealivery Days” event. From Saturday, Oct. 2, through Monday, Oct. 4, Shipt will offer discounts ranging from 20% to 30% off on a variety of items across numerous categories, including grocery, household essentials, beauty, personal care, and baby & toddler necessities.

Product discounts will show up as they are searched for in the Shipt app and are available nationwide, with a range of options from retail partners including Costco, CVS, Kroger, Meijer, and Target.

“After years of working with our amazing retailers and brands, we’ve garnered valuable insights that led us to the creation of Dealivery Days. It’s a perfect way to give customers discounts on items important to them, while putting our partners front and center,” said Rina Hurst, chief business officer at Shipt. “With this new shopping celebration, we ultimately aim to make everyday routines easier and give time back to our customers.”

RetailMeNot – Cash Back Day
Online deals and discounts platform RetailMeNot is running its third annual Cash Back Day national retail holiday with exclusive cashback offers from hundreds of retailers over 48 hours, Nov. 4-5. Originally celebrated by RetailMeNot as a one-day event, Cash Back Day returns this year as two full days of exclusive cashback offers.

Categories to shop will range from fashion, to electronics, travel, beauty, and more. According to RetailMeNot, Cash Back Day shoppers earned an average of $18 back per purchase in 2020. To date, RetailMeNot says it has paid shoppers nearly $1 million for Cash Back Day alone.

New this year, shoppers who download the RetailMeNot Deal Finder browser extension will have access to exclusive cashback offers that are available only if the savings tool is installed. The Deal Finder browser extension automatically finds the best promo codes and cashback at checkout. The event will also be accessible via the RetailMeNot mobile app.

"This holiday season, shoppers will once again have to get an early start to avoid shipping delays and inventory shortages. All of that game planning to get the perfect gift on time and at the right price can leave people feeling spent," said Kristin McGrath, shopping expert for RetailMeNot. "RetailMeNot wants to reward people for getting their shopping done early by giving them cash back during one of the biggest savings events of the year.”
