Texas travel center/c-store retailer entering Florida

Buc-ee’s continues to expand outside its home state.

The convenience store/travel center chain — best known for its super-sized stores, beaver mascot, Texas barbeque, and what the company calls “the world’s cleanest restrooms” — will open its first location in the state of Florida, in St. Augustine, on Feb. 22. Construction is underway in Daytona Beach for a second Florida location that is scheduled to open in March.

The 52,600-sq.-ft. St. Augustine store will offer thousands of snack, meal, and drink options for travelers on the go. It will also feature 104 fuel pumps.

Buc-ee's operates 38 stores across its home state of Texas. It began its multi-state expansion in 2019 and has since opened two locations in Alabama and one in Georgia. The company broke ground on its first location in South Carolina in 2020.
