Social media giant assists businesses with hiring

Retailers may have a new way to spread the word about their job openings.



Facebook now allows businesses in the United States and Canada to post available positions on their company pages or in the new “Jobs on Facebook” bookmark. Facebook users can also see job posts in their news feed, and alongside other posts on Facebook’s business pages, the social network said.



When candidates click on the “Apply Now” button, a form will open that's pre-populated with information from their Facebook profile. A company’s page administrator can review applications and contact applicants through Messenger via desktop or mobile app.



The service, which directly takes on professional social networking site LinkedIn, will help companies reach a larger, more relevant audience. The program was tested in various regions of the U.S., and businesses are already filling roles, Facebook said.
