eBay is putting artificial intelligence to the test this holiday season.
The online marketplace is putting its AI investments to work this holiday season with a new website that organizes and curates merchandise by category. The new feature promises to make it easier for customers to do their holiday shopping, according to
CNBC.eBay launched the service, called “Grouped Listings,” last month as a means of reducing clutter on its site. The webpage condenses listings by product, not seller. It also tags items through a combination of technology and human input, a move that enables the company to categorize items by theme, as well as similarity, the report said.
AI will also help eBay more accurately monitor what shoppers are buying, instead of directly asking them for their preferences,
CNBC reported.
