Results from Amazon’s body scanning study could be aimed to minimize one of online’s biggest problems: returns.
The online giant is using 3D technology to conduct a study that determines how bodies change shape over time, according to

Business Insider, individuals are asked to complete an online survey that determines how much their weight and fitness have fluctuated in the past year, and whether they have plans to lose weight. Those who are chosen for the study will visit the offices of New York City-based startup Body Labs, which Amazon bought in October, for 30-minute scanning sessions every two weeks.
There is speculation that the online giant may be applying results to a system that will help customers virtually try on clothes, or shop for styles better fitted for their body shape.
