Target tempts customers to indulge with new food and beverage brand

Target Corp. is launching a private grocery brand targeted at customers who want to indulge themselves with snacks and other treats. 

Target’s new Favorite Day line will feature more than 700 items across bakery, snacks, candy, ice cream, cake decorating supplies, beverage mixers, mocktails and more. It will roll out to Target stores and its website starting April 5.

Favorite Day is the first new private-label grocery brand Target has introduced since launching Good & Gather in fall 2019. The brand generated more than $2 billion in sales last year and is one of 10 private-label Target brands https://chainstoreage.com/targets-newest-billion-dollar-brand that generate more than a billion dollars in sales annually. To date, Target has more than 45 owned brands.

“We’re thrilled to build on Good & Gather’s success and the strength of Target’s food and beverage business by debuting our new owned brand, Favorite Day,” said Rick Gomez, executive VP and chief food and beverage officer, Target. “Rooted in guest insights and developed by our talented Target team, Favorite Day is a sweet and savory addition that tastes amazing, makes life’s little moments of indulgence even sweeter and continues to differentiate Target’s owned brand portfolio.”

The Favorite Day assortment will be made up of two lines: Favorite Day Bakery, offering assorted baked goods including cupcakes and breads; and Favorite Day Gourmet, a “decadent, high-quality sweets” collection spanning ice cream, baked goods and beyond. All Favorite Day items will be under $15.
