Target Corp. has tapped a merchandising and marketing veteran to help advance the company’s home strategy.
The discounter named Samara Tuchband as senior VP of merchandising, home, effective May 3. In the role, she will oversee Target’s merchandising and omnichannel business for the home category, including decorative home, stationery, home textiles, kitchen, storage and seasonal.
Tuchband joins Target from Crate & Barrel, where she served as VP of merchandising and head of diversity and inclusion. Under her leadership, kitchen and entertaining delivered double-digit growth and she led the creation and implementation of new tools and resources for improved diversity and inclusion efforts across the company, according to Target.
Prior to joining Crate & Barrel in 2018, Tuchband spent six years at The Home Depot, including serving as general manager, digital home. She also spent nearly three years at Sears Holdings Corp.
