Target in holiday partnership with FAO Schwarz; will open NYC pop-up

Target Corp.’s holiday plans include its largest top toys list ever and a link-up with the country’s most iconic toy retailer.

The discounter is teaming up with FAO Schwarz on an exclusive 70-piece toy collection that will include such FAO signature items as the Giant Piano Dance Mat. The collection will be available in Target stores and online starting later this month.

In addition, Target will open a pop-up experience at the FAO Schwarz flagship in New York City.  As part of the partnership, the FAO store will carry more than 300 items from Target’s private labels, including Cat & Jack and Pillowfort.

Target’s top toys list features what it described as 50 of the most anticipated toys, and includes 19 exclusive toys from brands such as Disney and Lego. The retailer said its full lineup is made up of thousands of toys and games—including more than 600 exclusive items from a variety of top brands.

“This year's exclusive FAO Schwarz collection and our largest Bullseye's Top Toys list ever provide something new and exciting for kids of all ages, all at an incredible value," said Christina Hennington, executive VP and chief merchandising officer, Target. "We also recognize our guests have a lot to think about this holiday season, and we hope they find comfort in the safe, easy experiences we've created, whether shopping in our stores or using one of our convenient fulfillment options."
