Target has opened 30 stores this year — here’s a rundown
Target Corp.’s unique style is on full display in the 30 new stores it has opened this year, with safety a constant across all the locations.
“We’ve built in the very latest in safety measures to these new locations, including hand sanitizer stations, plexiglass checkout shields and signage throughout each store to aid in social distancing,” the retailer stated.

In addition to health and safety considerations, the stores (see list at end of article) are packed with fun details that vary by location. Target’s new store in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood, for example, includes a custom mural representing blooming flowers native to Manhattan.
At the Las Vegas “showcase” store, customers can snap a selfie with a larger-than-life replication of Target mascot Bullseye the Dog.
A new store in Los Angeles, on the famed Sunset Boulevard, features floor-to-ceiling windows that allows shoppers to catch views of the surrounding community, including the Hollywood sign and the L.A. Observatory. Shoppers can also take in the sights along Sunset in two exterior patio seating areas. The store also features an underground drive-up space where shoppers can grab their order fast and contactless.
Target’s 2020 openings also include its first small-format store located on a college campus itself, at the University of California-San Diego. Most of the employees are also students at the school. A college-themed mural is featured throughout the store.
