Target downsizing its corporate office space in Minneapolis

The largest employer in downtown Minneapolis is reducing its presence by a significant amount.

Target Corp. will move out of City Center, a 51-story building in Minneapolis, reducing its office space downtown by about one-third, reported the StarTribune. Similar to many other companies, Target’s corporate workforce has largely been working from home since the pandemic hit.

Target will adopt a hybrid "Flex for your Day" approach in which employees will be able to work remotely as well as in person at the office as they "gradually return to headquarters" later this year, Target chief human resources officer Melissa Kremer stated in an email to employees, according to the report.

The chain’s employees who worked in City Center will be given a new "home base" in one of Target's other three downtown Minneapolis buildings, the report said. Target has approximately 8,500 employees based in the city.
