Digital native Rent the Runway and Nordstrom are teaming up in an arrangement that should benefit both companies.
The fashion rental giant is putting drop-off boxes, or kiosks, where customers can return their rented items (as opposed to mailing the items back) in four Nordstrom locations in Los Angeles. The kiosks are being placed in the department store retailer’s flagship at The Grove and in the three, small-format Nordstrom Local stores the company has opened in the market. Los Angeles is Rent the Runway’s fourth largest market.
It’s likely that Rent the Runway will expand the program with Nordstrom beyond California after the initial rollout is complete, reported
CNBC.
This is Rent the Runway’s second partnership to expand its market share and provide its customers with a more convenient option for returning rented items. In October, the company
announced it was installing drop-off boxes in the lobbies at 15 WeWork locations in six cities.
