Dayton, Ohio -- C-Spire Wireless is looking to redefine wireless shopping with a hands-in, interactive experience in an environment that challenges industry conventions.
The new look, which debuted in the company’s 1,200-sq.-ft. store in Quitman, Mississippi, eschews traditional counters. Instead, customers can sit or stand at a variety of “learning tables” that allow for conversations with C-Spire associates. The associates are equipped with tablets supported by a POS system that allows them to help consumers anywhere throughout the store. A lower light level also gives C-Spire a different mood than is common to most tech outlets.
Designed by Interbrand Design Forum, the space is categorized into four lifestyle experience zones (Live, Work, Play, Explore), making it easy for the shopper to focus on the merchandise most relevant to them.
Each zone tells a story and gives a flavor for what the featured technology is all about, helping the consumer understand their options within the context of their daily life. Interactive elements and demonstrations enable exploration.
The space celebrates the charm of raw materials, including locally sourced reclaimed wood and custom-made concrete wall panels. A local artist was commissioned to create a piece of metal art in the shape of the C Spire brand mark at the back of the store.
“From a visual standpoint we wanted to avoid the clichés found in the numerous Apple-inspired stores,” said Scott Jeffrey, chief creative officer, Interbrand Design Forum, Dayton, Ohio. “Instead, we focused on bringing a real, human element to it. To accomplish this we juxtaposed the technology with an environment with an unexpected industrial feel with a rough edge to it.”
Everything inside C-Spire is modular, scalable and designed for ultimate flexibility, allowing the store to adapt and remain relevant over time.
