SPECS reveals keynoters for 2020 event

SPECS 2020 announced that two dynamic speakers will serve as keynote speakers at its annual event, which will be held March 15-17, 2020, at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine (Dallas), Texas.

Now in its 56th year, SPECS will open with a keynote address by Barbara Corcoran, a prolific investor and entrepreneur who is most commonly recognized as a leading shark on the ABC hit television show “Shark Tank.” But Corcoran’s business reputation is much farther-reaching. At the age of 23, she used a $1,000 loan to fund a small real estate company in New York City. During the next 25 years, she grew the firm into The Corcoran Group, a $5 billion real estate business empire.

Corcoran, whose address is slated for Monday, March 16, at 8 a.m., will discuss her journey and the opportunities that lead her to become a regular “shark” on "Shark Tank." Corcoran will also share her own personal insights about what it takes to drive growth and succeed in business.

On Tuesday, March 17, 8:30, SPECS welcomes back CNBC senior analyst and commentator Ron Insana. The business journalist will give SPECS attendees his “Economic Reality Check — A Snapshot into the Future.” The discussion will highlight the change and disruption impacting the economic landscape, with a glimpse of what lies ahead for businesses.

SPECS 2020, exclusively produced by Chain Store Age and themed “The Forefront of Physical Retail,” is dedicated to brick-and-mortar retail. Along with plenty of networking opportunities, it features a lineup of more than 20 workshops and sessions focused on the issues shaping the physical retail landscape. The topics run the gamut from store design opportunities to construction challenges and facilities maintenance innovations. Attendees include retail, food-service and non-traditional executives involved in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of stores and restaurants
