The new Winn-Dixie, in Westlake, Fla., is the grocer’s first new store to open in 2022.

Southeastern Grocers’ expansion in the Sunshine State will continue next year.

The parent company of Fresco y Más, Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie grocery stores, will open a new Winn-Dixie location next year in the College Park neighborhood of Jacksonville, Fla

SEG has renewed more than 70% of all stores throughout the grocer’s Southeast footprint to enhance the customer shopping experience. During 2022, the grocer plans to remodel more than 50 stores throughout the Southeast and also continue to expand its e-commerce capabilities.

The grocer has been expanding throughout the state of Florida, including the recent opening of a new Winn-Dixie in Westlake, which followed on the heels of stores in St. Augustine Shores and Viera in 2021. Last fall, the grocer debuted a new stand-alone concept, WDs Wine, Beer and Liquor, with the first location in Jacksonville.

Additionally, SEG opened eight new Winn-Dixie stores in 2020, with sites in Boynton Beach, Fort Myers, Gainesville, Lakewood Ranch, Lake Mary, West Melbourne and two locations in Jacksonville

“We are always looking to better serve our customers, and the new College Park Winn-Dixie store presents an exciting opportunity for us to expand in our hometown,” said Anthony Hucker, president and CEO, Southeastern Grocers. “We plan to make a significant investment in the new store and provide more than 100 job opportunities to enrich the revitalization of the Arlington community and ensure our new customers receive remarkable service.”

Southeastern Grocers Inc. is one of the largest conventional supermarket companies in the U.S., with stores throughout the five Southeastern states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi.
