A leading digital commerce platform is entering the consumer market.
Shopify Inc. is introducing Shop, a mobile shopping app designed to create a more intuitive digital shopping experience from product discovery to delivery. Shop combines elements from Shopify’s Shop Pay one-click checkout and Arrive online order tracking features.
As a result, customers have access to streamlined checkout across all brands on the app and all order and tracking information is stored in one place. Tracking shows the status of each package and provides real-time updates. Other features include customized recommendations, as well as local filters that identify area businesses currently offering shipping, pick-up and return policies.
“Shopify has focused the last decade on solving complex problems for entrepreneurs by making commerce seamless and accessible,” said Carl Rivera, general manager of Shop. “Now, we want to do the same for customers. We set out to solve the common pain points in the customer’s shopping journey today, while developing specific features, like local business discovery, that will be relevant today and in the future.”
The iOS and Android app are available to download in the app store. Headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, Shopify powers over 1 million businesses in more than 175 countries.
