SVP Worldwide is innovating in its stores.
The maker of Singer, Husqvarna, Viking, and Pfaff sewing machines is stitching together a better customer experience in its stores.
SVP Worldwide, the world's largest consumer sewing machine provider, is responding to a surge in sales for its brand name products during the COVID-19 pandemic by upgrading its stores to the latest Oracle POS and Retail CRM systems. The upgrade was led by Oracle Retail Consulting (ORC).
By implementing the latest version of Oracle Retail Xstore Point-of-Service, SVP intends better connect with its in-store shoppers. For example, SVP Worldwide store associates can now use their mobile devices to step away from the fixed cash register to directly engage with customers.
In addition, having access to a complete view of each in-store customer's history and preferences through Oracle Retail Customer Engagement is helping associates better engage with shoppers. This capability also supports efforts to offer a more personalized approach for gift cards and promotions for new and existing loyalty program members.
Another retailer with a specialized product assortment, omnichannel outdoor gear and apparel retailer Backcountry, is also leveraging Oracle Retail Xstore technology to increase the personalization of in-store shopping experience. Backcountry is supporting the expansion of its store footprint by migrating from an in-house-developed POS system to the Oracle Retail Xstore Point-of-Service solution. By adopting Xstore, Backcountry intends for its customer service team of outdoor experts, known as "Gearheads," to gain the flexibility to move about the store and guide customers through its product assortment. In addition, Gearheads will have mobile access to inventory and customer information in an effort to enable them to provide better, faster service.
"Our brand's commitment is to inspire and delight our creative customers around the world," said Kevin Blanchard, CO at SVP Worldwide. "By bringing agility to the customer experience, we can deliver a more fulfilling shopping experience in our stores. From an operational point of view, this project allows us to incorporate the needs of our store associates while lowering support and hardware costs."
"Continual innovation in our omnichannel retail portfolio combined with the deep knowledge of our consulting group is a winning combination for retailers like SVP Worldwide," said Mike Webster, senior VP, and general manager, Oracle Retail. "For a specialized craft, such as sewing, it's so important to have knowledgeable associates that can really get in and help customers anywhere in the store. With the latest versions of Oracle Retail technology, SVP Worldwide will be able to give customers that highly-personal experience they are looking for."
