Sporting goods retailer Scheels has opened a 250,000-sq.-ft store packed with entertainment attractions.
An anchor tenant at the Eden Prairie Center in Eden Prairie, Minn., the $58 million store combines two main levels of retail space with a 16,000-gallon saltwater aquarium, 45-ft.-tall Ferris Wheel and wildlife taxidermy mountain.
Built by Minneapolis-based Kraus-Anderson Construction and designed by R.L. Engebretson Architecture, the new Scheels also features a golf shop, bike shop, ski shop, canoe and kayak shop, fishing shop, and gun and hunting shops, with a total of 85 specialty shops in all.
