Sam’s Club adds one-hour option to Express Delivery
The warehouse membership club subsidiary of Walmart Inc. is adding an enhanced delivery tier.
Sam’s Club is now offering a one-hour-or-less option, as well as its existing three-hour-or-less option, for its Express Delivery service. Delivery in one hour or less costs a flat $10 per order from Sam’s Club Plus members and $22 for Plus members, while delivery in three hours or less costs $5 for Plus members and $17 for Club members on eligible items.
All items cost the same as they do in-store and there is no minimum purchase requirement for Express Delivery, which Sam’s Club initially launched along with parent company Walmart in 2020.

Since fleet-wide rollout of the enhanced service across 600-plus stores on April 2, after an initial test in select markets, nearly 65,000 Express deliveries have been fulfilled.
To date, the average Express order is placed, shopped, and delivered in 55 minutes, according to Sam’s Club. The retailer said a “significant share” of these orders includes everyday essentials such as water, produce, rotisserie chicken, and paper goods.
Express delivery leverages fully integrated in-house technology, including technology from Walmart. In the most recent quarter ended Jan. 31, 2026, Sam’s Club’s e-commerce sales grew 23% year over year.
Walmart has also been busy trying to reduce the time it takes to fulfill online orders as chief rival Amazon has introduced one- and three-hour delivery in markets across the U.S. and is piloting delivery in 30 minutes or less in Seattle and Philadelphia.
Meanwhile, Walmart’s efforts at fast delivery have included expanding the availability of drone-based delivery that can arrive in as little as five minutes, testing dark stores to fill online orders more quickly and store-based fulfillment of marketplace orders.
“Members love our three hours or less Express delivery, but they told us they wanted an even faster option — so, we delivered,” said Greg Pulsifer, senior VP, e-commerce at Sam’s Club. “We continue to differentiate ourselves as a leader in club retail through true omnichannel shopping experiences: in-club, online, in-app, curbside pickup, and fast delivery — allowing members to shop how they want. Our 10 fastest deliveries to date were all fulfilled in less than 12 minutes. When members need emergency baby essentials or dinners on the fly, we’re not just delivering speed, but peace of mind and time back so they can focus on the things that matter most.”
Based in Bentonville, Ark., Sam’s Club is a division of Walmart Inc. operating more than 600 stores in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
