Ross Stores reaches fiscal 2026 expansion goal — with plans for continued growth
Off-price giant Ross Stores Inc. is continuing its rapid expansion into the fall months.
The company will open 41 Ross Dress for Less and 10 DD’s Discounts across 17 states in September and October, which completes its growth plans of 115 new locations for fiscal 2026.

"Building on the strong performance of our newer stores, we are excited to open our inaugural stores in Massachusetts while strengthening Ross Dress for Less' presence in New York and other existing markets. At DD’s Discounts, we are pleased to further expand in our established core markets of California, Florida and Texas."
Looking ahead, Lietz added that Ross Stores Inc. is “well-positioned” to reach 2,900 Ross Dress for Less and 700 DD’s Discounts locations over time.
“We remain confident in the long-term opportunities for both brands,” he added. “As customers increasingly seek great brands at great prices, Ross' off-price offering continues to resonate.”
In its most recent quarter, Ross Stores beat analyst expectations with earnings per share of $2.66 in the quarter ended Aug. 1, compared to $1.56 in the second quarter of fiscal 2025. The retailer easily topped Wall Street estimates of $1.94 EPS.
Sales rose 13% to $6.26 billion, ahead of estimates of $6.15 billion. Same-store sales surged 10%.

According to a report by Placer.ai, Ross store visits rose 16.4% year over year during the second quarter, while DD's Discounts saw visits increase 8.4%.
Headquartered in Dublin, Calif., Ross Stores Inc. operates approximately 2,377 locations across 45 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico.
