Rite Aid closing more stores
Rite Aid is undertaking a new round of store closings.
The pharmacy retailer, which filed for bankruptcy in October, is shuttering 31 stores across 12 states, according to a bankruptcy filing. (See locations at end of article.)
In October, Rite Aid revealed in court documents that it planned to close 154 locations across 17 states, with the most occurring in Pennsylvania, New York and California.
Rite Aid is working to restructure its debt under the leadership of Jeffrey S. Stein who was appointed as CEO, chief restructuring officer and a member of the board of directors in conjunction with the chain’s bankruptcy filing. He is the founder and managing partner of Stein Advisors LLC, a financial advisory firm that provides consulting services to public and private companies experiencing challenges including financial and operational restructuring.
Earlier this week, Rite Aid announced the expansion of its 266,000-square-foot distribution center in Des Moines, Wash..
